Location and How to Get There
Turaco Treetops is conveniently located near the entrance of Kibale National Park, approximately a 10-minute drive, making it an ideal base for chimpanzee trekking and other park activities.
- By Road: From Kampala, the journey is approximately 5-6 hours by car. The route takes you through picturesque landscapes and charming towns.
- By Air: Domestic flights from Entebbe International Airport to Kasese Airstrip or Mbarara Nyakisharara Airstrip also significantly reduce travel time. From there, it’s a scenic drive to the lodge.
The lodge provides detailed directions and transport assistance upon request, ensuring a seamless journey.
Accommodation at Turaco Treetops

Turaco Treetops offers a variety of accommodations designed to bring the outdoors inside, ensuring guests feel connected to the surrounding rainforest without compromising on comfort.
Luxury Forest Cottages: The lodge features eight spacious cottages, each situated in secluded spots within the jungle. These cottages boast large windows and private wooden decks, providing splendid views over Kibale Forest. Designed with a blend of modernity and African flair, the interiors use clean lines combined with wood and other natural materials. Guests can relax on their balconies, often spotting Great Blue Turacos or Black-and-White Colobus Monkeys enjoying the forest canopy.
Standard Rooms: In May 2021, Turaco Treetops expanded its accommodations by adding eight standard rooms. These rooms are located in four duplex buildings set within the forest, offering excellent value for money without sacrificing the lodge’s signature comfort and style.
The lodge’s main building includes a restaurant, a lounge area with a cozy fireplace, a bar, an outside terrace, and a first-floor lounge with spectacular views over the forest and the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains.
