We kindly ask you to review these terms thoroughly prior to submitting your travel post to Visit Africa. By submitting a guest post, you acknowledge and accept the following terms:
Publish your travel Article on Visit Africa
Are you a traveler, storyteller, photographer, content creator, journalist, or an explorer in Africa with stories, articles, and news to share?
Originality and Ownership
- All content submitted must be original, not published anywhere else (including personal blogs or social media), and created by you.
- When you submit your content to Visit Africa, you maintain authorship while granting Visit Africa non-exclusive, perpetual rights to edit, publish, republish, share, distribute, and promote your content on all digital platforms.
- Visit Africa holds editorial and publishing rights and will not provide royalties or licensing fees for accepted submissions.
- Submissions that include plagiarism, AI-generated content lacking human revision, or duplicate entries will be rejected without exception.
Scope and Focus of Content
We exclusively welcome guest posts that align with the themes of Africa and reflect the Visit Africa mission.
Themes that are accepted include:
- Experiences of travelling in Africa
- Insights into culture, traditions, and festivities
- Guides to destinations across Africa
- Food and drinks from African nations
- Exploring wildlife, going on safaris, and experiencing nature encounters
- Responsible or sustainable travel
- Participating in volunteer work, engaging with the community, and travelling for meaningful impact
- News on travel and tourism in Africa
We do not allow:
- Material not connected to African destinations or cultures
- Excessively commercial or promotional material.
- Opinion pieces that go into political or contentious topics
- Travel content lacking a distinct African perspective or cultural identity
Style and Tone of Writing
- Submissions should embody Visit Africa’s basics: original, African, factual, honest, vibrant, reflective, and devoid of clichés.
- English is required. Utilise precise spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Portray individuals, locations, and customs with dignity and genuine representation.
- Use real place names, culinary dishes, languages, and relevant references whenever practical. The significance of context cannot be overstated.
Editorial Rights and Modifications
All submitted content will undergo editorial review. Visit Africa may:
- Revise your title, grammar, structure, and tone to align with brand standards.
- Apply relevant internal links, images, or SEO keywords for better effectiveness.
- Adjust or eliminate content that does not align with our principles or guidelines.
- Significant revisions will be addressed with the author whenever practical.
- Submitting your blog post does not ensure that your article will be published.
Usage of Images and Copyright
- It is essential that you possess the rights to any photos or graphics you submit, or alternatively, supply high-quality royalty-free images accompanied by appropriate licensing and credit.
- Minimum image resolution: 1,200 x 800 pixels (landscape is preferred).
- A maximum of 5 images is allowed per submission.
- Captions are strongly recommended (please include the photographer’s name, location, and subject if known).
Credits and Biography
You will be fully credited for your post on Visit Africa with:
- Your name
- A short author bio (100–150 words)
- A profile picture
- One (1) link to your personal website, blog, or social media (non-commercial only)
We prohibit:
- Links for affiliates
- Promoted links
- Overly promoting oneself
- Connections to content that is either unrelated or not focused on Africa
Appreciation for Culture and Community
- Submissions should maintain cultural sensitivity and respect for dignity.
- Steer clear of making generalisations, reducing individuals to mere objects, or downplaying the significance of cultural traditions, religious convictions, or communities.
- When discussing individuals or sensitive subjects, it is important to obtain permission, maintain accuracy, and ensure respectful representation.

Remuneration and Rights
At this time, guest posts are not paid. In place of that, we provide:
- Visibility via our homepage, newsletter, and social media channels.
- A highlight on the Visit Africa blog.
- An expanding network of writers for potential collaboration opportunities.
- You are allowed to share links to your published article on Visit Africa; however, you cannot republish the entire article elsewhere after it has been approved.
Evaluation of Content and Response Duration
- Submissions will be reviewed in a time frame of 10 to 14 business days.
- Upon acceptance of your post, you will be notified with a confirmation and an estimated date for publication.
- If your application is declined, we may provide feedback.
Confirmation of Submission
By checking the submission form box, you acknowledge that:
- This material is your original unpublished article.
- You have reviewed, understood and accepted these terms.
- You provide Visit Africa with the rights specified above.
